I’ve stoked the woodstove at 3 am and again at 5:15. I’m sitting in front of it with the door open as I pull the coals forward where they will burn better. It’s another bitterly cold night; -29c at the moment. I’m glad I put another bowl of feed out for them before I went to bed.
It’s so important not to expect more from s woodstove that it will reasonably give off. Lots of house fires when it’s really cold, from expecting too much from the woodstove.
